GO!2025
European Capital of Culture
Gorizia Design Week
Auditorium della Cultura Friulana
Via Roma 23, Gorizia, Italy
March 7–16, 2025
You are cordially invited to the group exhibition in which the Oloop Collective is participating with the project Connections – a textile installation in progress. The Gorizia Design Week is one of the first events to kick off the celebrations aimed at promoting links between the twin cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia. The theme of the initiative, FIBRE ART & TEXTILE DESIGN, was chosen for its symbolic meaning — fabrics and weaving as an expression of unity and connection between people, cities and nations. The exhibition, located at the interface of design and art, focuses on one of the region’s most important production sectors — the textile sector. This sector has strongly characterised the region in the past and still plays an important role in the economic development of the region today. The exhibition presents the textile sector in its many forms, from craftsmanship to industrial production and contemporary art.

About the European Capital of Culture
Nova Gorica emerged after the Second World War, when the Slovenes were without their cultural centre in Gorizia. The city was rebuilt from scratch, while Gorizia can look back on a thousand years of history. The GO! Borderless project overcomes borders and promotes reconciliation and cross-border cooperation. The aim is to develop an innovative strategy for both border communities to overcome physical and mental barriers. The cultural and artistic programme embodies these values and strives to go beyond the ordinary to achieve exceptional quality.
