Handicraft exhibitions in Slovenj Gradec have a rich tradition and are one of the most important events for the presentation ofhandmade products. Since the first exhibition of local and artistic crafts in 1977, the social, cultural, economic and environmentalconditions have changed profoundly. Therefore, the new edition of the Triennial of Handicrafts and Crafts reflects the changedrelationships in the field of handmade cultures and highlights the topicality and relevance of such processes. The exhibitioncontributes to the understanding of handicraft industries in the context of time and society of the 21st century.

Triennial of Handicrafts and Crafts also features hand- embroidered self-portraits from the Selfi series, made by Oloop collective and a group ofimmigrant women.

In 2022, the series received two awards – the Slovenian Designers’ Association Award and award at Zagreb Design Week.
