ACTIVE CO-CREATION
ACTIVE CO-CREATION

Active CO-creation is a social activation program for women from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Social activation is a support program designed for individuals facing long-term unemployment and social exclusion. Its goal is to empower participants to become more actively involved in society and prepare them to enter the labor market. Through various educational, counseling, and practical activities, the program enables participants to acquire new knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to overcome life’s challenges. It provides professional support, guidance, and opportunities for personal and career growth.

The Active CO-creation program began in October 2024 and will conclude in August 2027 (SA+ 2024–2027). The first culturally diverse group of 15 participants from Turkey, Egypt, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Russia has completed the program. A second group, consisting of women from Ukraine, is also gradually approaching completion. Their activities can be followed on the Oloop Design Facebook page.

Members of the Oloop Institute and Institute Tri jointly run the “creative activation” component, which, through creative encounters, helps participants recognize their potential, skills, and motivation, strengthen their self-image, and build a sense of belonging within the group. These sessions take place in various museums and galleries across Ljubljana, including Plečnik House, Rog Centre, National Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova (MSUM), Cukrarna, and others. At Oloop, we also lead part of the practical training—work-based learning—where participants acquire knowledge of textile craft techniques and practice creating a collective tapestry.

The project is managed by Jazon Institute in partnership with Oloop Institute, Etri Group, and the Odnos Association.

The public call is partly co-financed by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the European Union, specifically through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The projects are co-financed under the CCP 2021–2027 (Common Provisions Regulation), Policy Objective 4 “A more social and inclusive Europe for implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights”, Priority 7 “Long-term care, health and social inclusion”, specific objective ESO4.8 “Promoting active inclusion to foster equal opportunities, non-discrimination and active participation, and enhancing employability, especially for disadvantaged groups (ESS+)”.
